Splice Construction Ltd were contracted by Thames Coromandel District Council to realign a section of Black Jack road between Otama bay and Opito bay.
The scope of work involved Earthworks for the realignment, installing under road drainage pipes, construction of rocklined swales, and pavement construction. The job presented a number of challenges because of the remote location.
The team had to use narrow challenging roads to transport materials to and from site with health and safety a priority. There were also many environmental challenges associated with steep hill work that required constant and innovative team management so that everyone remained safe and high quality work was produced.
We are really proud of how onsite team rose to the challenge and completed the job on time, under budget with no environmental or Health and safety incidents.
