Following a six-month review of the business, Splice Construction restructured with a focus on returning to their foundational service offerings: civil construction and barriers.
Owner and Director Graeme Rush took a step back during this process, hiring business consultant Grant Metcalfe into the position of CEO for six months, supported by experienced civil construction leader Dave Kersten.
“Reviewing and restructuring the business has been both insightful and a good reminder of how important it is to stick to what you’re good at” says Graeme.
“I’m pleased to return to what we do best. It keeps things simple; we know we’re highly skilled in these areas, with all the right tools. It means we can focus on providing the right amount of support to our team to deliver good results.
“With the review process done, Dave will stay on with Splice to advise, lead and develop the capacity and people in our project teams.
“As a result of Grant’s input, we’re moving forward with a solid team structure in place. The change management has been well-considered and expertly handled. I want to thank Grant for his honest, insightful, straight-talking leadership and respectful approach.”
Splice has a proud legacy of providing training and employment opportunities in the communities where they work. That hasn’t changed.
“The restructure allows us to bring on more project managers to support our site managers and site staff" continues Graeme. "This will be supported and driven by Dave Kersten, who has done an outstanding job since joining the business in August last year, having led and been a part of this change process. I am grateful for his contribution and look forward to working with him moving forward.
“We want to develop a family-first, passionate group of people who feel empowered, respected, and supported to deliver great projects.
“We’re excited with what can be achieved after taking a long hard look at ourselves and how we want to develop business.”
